Front springs, need help asap.

I have a 84 firebird with a v6 in it, the front springs are old, iv already bought front struts and rear shocks, i have came across a pair of front moog coil springs for $20, now the guy says there off a 3rd gen camaro. Doesnt say v8 or v6 or not, im wondering what the differance between the two are and if the 8 cyl springs will fit. Are there any downside to having 8cyl springs in a car with a v6.

Yes, the front end will sit high, unless they are lowering springs.

Same with rear springs on a v6? If i where to install rear v8 springs on a v6 car would that jack up the back end a bit?

Yes it would jack it up...it will also ride rougher. Ive seen ppl put v8 springs in the back to have that back raised look.

i would just buy a pro kit for your car. Ull be happy with the ride, stability, and stance.

isnt the pro kit designed for 8 cyl cars?? i could see him gaining performance from the rear lowering but would the drop be the same on a 6 as in an 8 with the weight?

Re: Front springs, need help asap.

Try Canuck Motorsports for lowering springs- Third Gens look better with a balanced stance... if you want a jacked up rear, get a Second Gen and call Grumpy Jenkins or Wally Booth!!

We all have our own opinion and thats yours, i need the rear jacked a bit so my rear tires dont rub the wheel wells. To be honest with you i would much rather a 2nd gen but no one will trade me

Re: Front springs, need help asap.

Well, I like the lowered look myself but if you've got fat 60 series tires back there and not sitting up too high it'll look cool too. Later.

Re: Front springs, need help asap.

Would a SC with an LG4 have the same rear springs as a SC with a V6?

Re: Front springs, need help asap.

when i did my shocks and struts i bought a pair of front end springs from summit racing (i had already replaced the rears) and it said it was for my exact application, or i may have put down 5.7L cuz i plan on swapping the motor out when i can get the money...anywho, i couldnt even fit these springs in, i got the old ones out just fine, new ones...forget about it! we even went so far as to take two pieces of 1/2" metal, drill a hole in it, put a 1/2" bolt through it and tighten it down with an impact gun...did nothing, still wouldnt fit. i dont know why. i decided that if i had to compact the springs that far, then it would most likely just raise my front end up, so i stuck with the originals lol...i like the way it looks and IMO ithink theyre still working just fine lol...just figured that seeing as how iwas right there i'd try replacing them.

i returned them and got my100 bucks back lol
