how to replacement
1.) Has anyone replaced the lower control arm bushings? If so what is the
best way to remove the old ones, and the best to install the new ones?
2.) Also the same for the lower ball joint, as in whats the best way to remove the old, and install the new?

Re: how to replacement
I haven't done either (but I'm about to). The ball joint is removed with a c type press that can be found on ebay for about $40. If the joint is really rusty you might need a hydraulic press. My Nova has the same style ball joint and I had the hardest time getting them off. I never did get them off, I just replaced the control arms with repros. I believe you need a press to do the bushings, you'll also need a coil spring compressor.

Re: how to replacement
Thanks for the info.
I have to replace my lower ball joints because I tore the greese boot during the removal process. I then figured I might as well do the lower bushings too.

Re: how to replacement
You could just replace the boot with a polyurethane boot. Also the easiest way (although not for your wallet) is go and have a shop press them out. I have replaced the ball joints, believe me when i say that was not a job i want to do again. If you have the control arm off the car it shouldn't cost much having them press out the ball joints and bushings at the same time. Are you going with stock or poly for the control arm bushings?

Re: how to replacement
I did both this winter and its not as bad as many people think. You will need a ball joint press$40 from autozone, a ball joint seperator$7 from autozone and most likely a srping compressor $120 I think from autozone; but they refund everything once you return it. I tried to press out the old bushings but i started to bend the a arm so i just cut the buching and then pressed out the rubber/metla piece and pulled out the outer shell. For the ball joint just use the press to press it out and put the new one in; dont be afraid to really use some force. Its not really all that complicated it just takes a while, the hardest part and the scarriest part for me was getting the controll arm back in with all that tension on the spring.

Re: how to replacement
I did the 2 front bushings on the front control arm with a hidraulic press, I had to grind away the lips on the factory bushings. I would have changet the rears to but I couldent fit the A arm under the press to remove and install. Fortunately the rear rubber was in good shape.
I think new A arm is around 140$ piece and should have bushings and ball joint.
