Bilstein questions

If you are going to lower the vehicle, is it a must to purchase the sport model over the HD version?

Re: Bilstein questions

I have the HDs on the back of my Eibach equiped car. Sports would be better. The fronts, I don't know.
Bilstein struts won't work with the coil over I have seen specs on, BTW.
My Bilsteins work nicely.

Re: Bilstein questions

It seems that the Sport models are on back order forever. The date keeps going back, no one seems to have them in stock.

I think I will risk it with the HD's.

The 3rd and 4th gens are different.

Correct, they are on back order. We carry the HD's if interested. Forum member discount and free shipping applies for orders over $95.

Re: Bilstein questions

Id like to know the specifics. The whole rear suspension is the same. I dont know what could be different outside of valving. But looking at the SS/Z28 shocks they end up being more expensive, so thats out.

I think Im gunna go with the HD's.

Re: Bilstein questions

I have read here that the only difference between HDs and Sports is the extended length: Sports being shorter.

Correct, the rears for the 4th gen have different valving but the shocks look the same and size.

However, you can see (alone) the difference in the assembly between the fronts for the 3rd and 4th gens here:

3rd Gen Front: F4-VE3-C522-H0
4th Gen Front: F4-BE5-2406-M2

Re: Bilstein questions

ShockGuys, I have been very disappointed with your service. I orderd the shocks coming up on 3 weeks now, and have not heard a word on when I will be getting them, any emails on a possible back order, nothing. All I got was an email saying that you recieved my order. I am very disappointed with this. I gambled with you since you sponsor several sites I belong to, and this was a total let down.
