torque arm length?

I had the torque arm out of my 91 firebird and I had another out of a 87 Iroc. The 87 Iroc was shorter. I have worked on these third gens for a long time and never knew there was any different arms. Can any one explain? Thanks

Re: torque arm length?

Throw the factory torque arm away and buy a good adjustable aftermarket one that moves the front mount onto a new tranny crossmember and off the transmission.

Yeah That is already done.
I was just cleaning up the garage and put the two arms together and noticed the difference in length, was just curious about it.

Re: torque arm length?

The v6 cars have a different trans mount but the arms should all be the same length. Did you already get a new arm and relocation bracket? Give me a call if you need anything.

Re: torque arm length?

I just have to laugh at how rediculous this site has become.

This guys asks a question and two sales genious' come in here saying to call them for questions and try to pimp their products.

UMI Morons, he asked if anybody knew about different factory length Tqarms-unbelievable.

I personally have never heard any difference other than them being mounted reverse facing from the factory sometimes. Maybe there is something to the length and the mount facing?

Dean

ps, Rich14, there are a few of us here that actually can red and interpet peoples questions. Hope is not all lost yet till they ban the ones with knowledge that get sick of incompetence around here and voice it. For gawd sakes people, this is a tech board- read the questions.
