anti-rattle spring

anti-rattle spring

Ok, my left rear brake pads have been rattling. I bought anti-rattle springs. how do i put them in? does anyone have a diagrams on how to do it?

these are the anti-rattle springs i got.

Those are for the front. If you have the original disc brake rears used in 87, the clip is C shaped and is the size of the outer diameter of the brake piston.

omg. so i just bought the wrong part? where can i get ones for the rear? and do you have to remove the caliper to do it.

I dont know who would carry the rears, never looked. Anyone that carries a decent selection of brake parts should have them. I dont think there's any way you can get the ones onto the rear without taking off the caliper even with a lot of time and effort, there is just no space to work with. Only 2 bolts/pins hold it in place, just remove them.

if i take off the two bolts, what do i have to do next. and will i have to bleed the brakes again?

Take out the two bolts/pins holding the caliper on, slide it off the rotor (should be able to do both sides without messing with the brake line) take off the inside pad, put the clip around the piston with the two bent out pieces at the bottom of the pad, hook the pad to the clip, put it back together.
