I tried the search function but everything is too scattered.
I'm planning on doing a third gen project car. and my first plan is to upgrade all the suspension components and chassis.
i want to know exactly what is recommended to be done? i don't really need any how-to's (at the moment, but i'm sure i could look those up easily).
i just want a list of what is recommended to do to these cars suspension/chassis wise
btw if any of you are selling your car, check out my thread! hopefully i can buy it

I'd freshen up all the shocks, struts, springs. If it doesn't have sway bars add them. If it dies, put new endlinks on if they look old. After that get some good after market lower control arms, lower control arms relocation brackets if you put lowering springs on, and an adjustable pan hard bar if you lowered it too. Everyone reccomends subframe connectors also, and a wonder bar (steering brace) if you don't have one. Maybe a strut tower brace if you want to go that far too.

will lowering the car make it handle better? i don't want to go for a lowrider look, but if it's functional i will definately do it

i've heard of those, and am definately going to add those

dies should have been does, i believe.
lowering the car can make it handle better its not as simple as, it lowered...now it handles good.
wonder bar is in front of your front sway bar, bolts to both frame rails to help stiffen the chassis and brace the driver's side frame rail by the steering box.
by freshen up shocks,... replace them. The more you can afford to spend on them, the happier you'll be with the performance.
You will also want aftermarket strut mounts as the stock ones are junk.

would i need relocation brackets for the rear? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/UPI-2010/
is it just one panhard bar?

do i want weld on or bolt on subframe connectors?

do you have a car yet?
i would not buy swaybars until you know what your car has on it already. It may already have a 32-34mm bar, which is similar to the summit one, and its free! Same with the rear.
shocks are struts are ok, but this a place to spend as much as you can afford.
Dont forget tires, good tires
rear control arms, i would get ones without a poly bushing on at least one end, help reduct the bind of the poly.
panhard bar, definatly get an adjustable one. You will need the adjustabilility after the car is lowered.
the lowering springs are nice, but depending on the condition of you stock springs, the car may not lower or ever raise with the new springs.
the relocation brackets you listed are the ones. Depending on the ride height of the car, you may not need them. The control arms want to be parallel at ride height. The brackets can also be used to lower the lca to help with traction at the drag strip at the cost of some suspension bind.
definatly weld the sfcs on. You can weld the bolt on one as well, and they sometimes have larger mounting points. They also let you bolt them on yourself and do the prep work, then drive the car to a shop to have them welded.
a wonderbar, steering brace, is a brace that bolts on wiuth the front sway bar and reinforces the front subframe. The frame tends to flex a bit when cornering and just with the stresses induced by the steering box/linkage. Its a great idea on every 3rd gen along with the SFC's.
A Strut tower brace will keep the strut towers from flexing when turning. You need to know what engine you have because they are all application specific.
Something thats often overlooks on the front end is the strut monts themselves. You will see little benfinit from the STB, or other front end upgrades without eliminating the stock rubber mounts. Check out hotpart.com for their strut plates. The are one of the best ones out there and have lots more adjustability that other. NOt a bad price either. around 200 bux.

wonderbar
lca's
panahrd rod
.....these are going on my car as well. Still need to get some UMI lca's to match all the other UMI stuff I have. Make sure the panhard rod is ON car adjustable. My rear is about 1" out.
Figure out if your stock sway bars are OK for your driving or not (and see what sizes you have). Time to get under the car and look.

I got mine direct from UMI and used the 15% discount they have every few months (covers the shipping costs). The owner (Ryan) was very helpful with a few questions I had. Just called them and they shipped straight to my door. Originally Posted by Grounded.4.Life

Redline in Scarborough deals with BMR. They will order the parts for you and convert the pricing so you pay in Canadian funds. You just have to leave them a deposit then pick up and pay the balance.
Both are good companies....but, I like having the items delivered to my house and not drive out to Scarborough to pick up.
