need input on street/strip suspension

i'm finally getting this car(88 t/a) of mine put together and was wondering what kind of setup would be good for a street/strip car that won't really see much of either.still would like it to be capable of both though.i've been looking in classic industies catalog and was thinking about starting with subframe connectors, trailing arms, adjustable panhard,70/30 front shocks, and they have some lift bars in there that i was thinking about picking up.i want a setup that is going to give me good off the line performance but still be able to go around curves on the road.not carve corners mind you,but i don't want it to fell like trying to steer a dragster to the local meet spot.car will see very little street use and little to none track for a little while.i'm also getting rid of my non-posi unit and swapping in a low mileage 4th gen rear with only 3.42 gears.i would also like to know if these parts will bolt together with the 4th gen rear under my car.will also be putting some weld prostars on there and probably run a nitto 555r dot slick.looking for some nice bang for my buck and don't want to do ant tubbing to the car.thanks ahead of time to everyone.

70/30 shocks are more of a drag setup and wont be the best for the street, a little soft up front. forget the lakewood lift bars, they are not the best thing going.

get a good set of subframe connectors, have them welded in.
get a wonderbar for the front, a little cheap insurance.
rear control arms and panhard, adjustable with at least one end being a rod end or equivalent.
a tubular torque arm will help a lot too, either a crossmember mounted one would be a good choice, take the stress off the tail shaft of the trans. Check out UMI, Spohn and BMR for all the parts above, forget anything from lakewood or edelbrock, maybe lakewoods panhard, but its only available with poly on both ends.

If you want to delve into it, new poly engine mounts and a poly trans mount are a good idea too, but the engine mounts are a bit of a pita to do. trans is easy.

dont forget rear shocks, tires, and maybe a brake upgrade for the fronts to match the new 4th gen rear that hopefully has disc brakes.

im sure there is more, but there's a start

so the 3rd gen traction bars are junk? i've seen them in jegs catalogs but haven't read to much about folks who've actually used them.

Re: need input on street/strip suspension

i had them for a little bit, a couple here have used them in the past. The idea works, its pretty much a mini tadder bar. the issue is the tab that bolts to the shock mount breaks and the adjustment is limited. You can do better with a torque arm setup

Re: need input on street/strip suspension

kind of relieved about the lift bars and dissapointed.they were about the closest thing to trac bars for the 3rd gen.as far as the 70/30's go,not really gonna see much street use other than driving to car meets.engine might pull about 8mpg when coasting.i was pretty much catalog shopping for anything that aids in off the line traction and not really around curves handling.i appreciate the feed back guys.

Maybe i didn't read that correctly, but I don't think these are designed to replace the torque arm? Just to assist it?
If that's the case, that might explain the breakage.
