its all over the road, why?

well heres the deal when driving down the road (nice and flat, no bumps) it will start to bounce, as if just went over a few bumps, but the raod didnt have any bumps. not all the time but lately it does it more and more. then theres the fact that ill be driving striaght but the car will feel like its wieving back and forth. ideas?

I would go over the entire front suspension, while you are changing out your faulty struts.

If the front struts are that bad, the front steering parts must be shot.

Take it to a mechanic for inspection.

I do believe Blind Driver meant a "reputable" mechanic.

Re: its all over the road, why?

new tires wouldnt hurt none either bad tires can cause it to pull if the belt is broke inside and it would shake the steering wheel. and feel like it is bouncing. air in the tire is also a plus. if its not that struts , springs, steering components , sway bar lots of things it could be

Re: its all over the road, why?

Sounds like what lifted Jeeps get called the "death wobble", but the suspension is completely different, so the solution is nowhere near the same.

How are the bushings in your a-arms? If they are falling apart (cracked/collapsing, etc.) that that could cause the a-arms to shift & totally throw off your alignment, Which is the basics of what "death wobble" is. Bad alignment.

Checking the strut mount bushing won't hurt either.

Re: its all over the road, why?

The tires will want to jump and down if they are out of balance. If your struts are bad then it's that much worse. I've seen tires actually bouncing off the road they were so bad.
