GM Durastop Brakes

Has anyone got any info on the GM's Durastop Brakes? I heard the rotors are heavier-duty and a little thicker than stock. How bad are they cost wise? Thanks in advance.

AC Delco Durastop brakes are actually a "generic" version of the OEM brakes. Although the boxes both say "AC Delco", the OEM ones are the better.

As for the rotors, I doubt the Durastops are thicker, but I have no hard facts to confirm this.

I think he's talking about the new performance durastops. The rotors are cross drilled and slotted and the pads are 4 times stronger than regular pads.I have part numbers if you are interested.

Cool, could I have the part numbers? It is for an 89 Iroc with 4-wheel disc brakes. Does anyone know about cost?

According to gmpartsdirect.com the rotors are $137.24 each and the pads are $35.88. Sounds like a fairly reasonable deal to me for cross-drilled and slotted rotors.

There aren't any for the rear.Just get Ac Delco pads and rotors.I don't know why they didn't release pads for the rear.GM announced this stuff a year and a half ago.The parts are just now getting to the depos.
