Brake maintenance for 89 Formula

Hey. I'm planning on a front brake job.
I want to keep the car with as close to original parts as I can.

I am concerned because with the front wheels off, I see that the pads are touching the rotor. Should this be? Does this go away once the car is started and the brake system becomes pressurized? I see this as being a source of brake drag.

What brand of brake pads should I get?
Location would be great from fellow Candaians.
I take it that I have a Floating Caliper.
I've attempted to remove the bottom pin using a hex head on my wrench...no luck. Besides jacking the car up higher and getting underheath it to get more force behind the wrench, what can I do?

What should I use to clean the caliper's exterior and the brake hoses? How do I know if I should be replacing them too?

Thanks.

there is nothing to make the pads retract, so they ride aginst the rotors. the calipers have bushings that the bolts go through that ride in a plastic o ring sort of thing, this allows the calipers to move a small amount and that keep the pads from truely draging o nthe rotor, unless you have problems.
