32mm IROC to 36mm WS6 Swap

Is this a simple bolt up swap with new bushings and end links, one in and one out, or are there other things to consider?

That simple. And you can reuse your orig endlinks.

Justin,

Tradition wisdom claims that beyond the sway bar bushings, mixing poly with rubber is a bad idea (i.e. going with poly sway bar bushing and endlinks, but leaving the control arm bushings rubber). Any thoughts?

Definitely replace the endlinks as well. Finding 36mm bushings is difficult as only a few companies make them(and energy suspension isn't one of them). You'll definitely like the difference with the WS6 bar.

Well, like all things, your total setup is only as good as your weakest link. Having a few poly pieces on a component mixed with rubber on another is fine. But dont expect it to act like it is all poly. If you have old rubber, i would suggest replacing that before you do anything.

If your going with poly, make sure you keep it all well lubed with marine grease otherwize you will end up with binding problems.

Energy Suspension has them. I think Global West does too.

Well my Z-28 as well as a few at the junkyard I have spotted came with regular rubber (center) sway bar bushings and with red urethane endlink bushings.

Strange. My 85 IROC has rubber sway bar bushings but does have red endlink bushing. I always imagined that someone somewhere sometimes swapped the rubber out.

My car came from the factory with rubber sway bar bushings and red endlinks.

If these are stock poly, what gives?

The only people I have have found to make 36mm poly bushings is Guldstrand. Kind of expensive though.

Yes I believe the red endlinks are stock poly. I always thought that the 1 previous owner had installed them. But everything on the vehicle was bone stock, so that would be a strange/unique single upgrade. Then I saw them on other camaros (at least Z28/IROC) and realized they had come that way.
