torque arm & wheel hop question
Which company makes a torque arm will fit a car with a borg warner 9 bolt rear? Most of the companies that I have found only list that their torque arms fit cars with 10bolt rears.
I've got a horrible wheel hop problem and I am hoping that this will fix the problem. I already have hotckis panhard bar, hotckis sub-frame connectors and, hotckis lower control arms installed.

Re: torque arm & wheel hop question
i put a borg warner 9 bolt in to my 84 camaro and used a torque arm for a 10 bolt. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-5282/ , i did have to cut a small 1"x1" peace out of where it mounts to the diff to clear a lip on the diff. other then that every thing else was the same and bolted rit up.

Re: torque arm & wheel hop question
I am soory to say that a torque arm is only a small piece to your puzzle and I would not even call it the first piece. IMO I would start with control arm relocation brackets and get you control arms sloped properly to plant the tires into the ground.

Re: torque arm & wheel hop question
Hopefully that will help fix things. I am going to have new shocks and bushings put on the car soon in addition to a new torque arm.

Re: torque arm & wheel hop question
Thats good to know. I found out my wheel hop problem was not from the arm but the rear shocks are shot. I am using this as an excuse to rebuild the suspension now. I'm not surprised its worn out I still have the original shocks on the car and a lot of miles.

Re: torque arm & wheel hop question
I personally would get the UMI unit, but
I think you'll find UMI, Sphon, and BMR all make satisfactory products. It's more preference with these brands. The jegs piece is good for a drag car, but if you don't want to suffer adverse handling under heavy braking it may not be the best choice. Also, replace the lcas, add relocation brackets. The torque arm only handles a part of the rearends movement.

I am looking at that too. I already have a hotckis trackbar and lower control arms and subframe connectors. I am looking at getting poly bushings, hotckis springs, and new shocks.
