This 1LE Stuff

Ok You people that keep posting the adapters that are sold by Gaustrand and others please realize that the GM bracket is the exact same part for 54 bucks. Why spend 100 plus for this part?.
The only thing you have to do is grind alittle on your spindle to make them fit correctly.
I have read many many posts aout this brake upgrade and Frankly I am getting sick of them. The roving adds need to go, If people are intersted like I am to do this upgrade it can(and has been done for $630-680), just do the search thing for 1LE and you will get many many posts.
Do yourself a favor and read them, you will save a hundered bucks, from the "latest" post on this. And yu will save $700 from the bear and other kits.
So the add people need to go, please, stop posting this stuff over and over again.
The 630-680 upgrade post had all the part numbers from GM and Autozone 1LE Calipers listed, along with the prices. And not to mention some very helpful pics on what to do and where to grind a little....

And people I have some rotted out floor pans and I want to install the dragster type floor pans...who sells them and what are the prices?....

Sorry! I just figured that with ovr 7000 registered members. That someone might be interested in doing this upgrade SAFELY. Some members do not have our level of expreience. So my info is aimed at them. Not guys like, to whom it all seems so easy. Sorry dude,it won't happen again.

Andy thats not the point really...I am all for helping others, but when there is a but load of posts on this topic there has to be a limit. I understand that 1 person may pick up on something that someone else missed put geesh come on. just keep it in the orginal thread and keep the messages useful and not overwhelming.

Maybe you should do the conversion then start talking, cuz right now you're sputtering out useless gospel. "Grind a little on your spindle..." yeah, sounds like a successful 1LE conversion to me.

Without the posts by Andy or Greg Westphal or by Karl Hunter (Hunter Motorsports), or without some of us that can shed some insight on the conversion having actually done it, many people would be left in the dark or unnecessarily hunting parts down. Did you know that the caliper pin and circlip are the same on 94 up Mustang Cobras? Find one at a parts store for a 1LE camaro. Bottom line, don't complain about eating up board space when all people are trying to do is help; thats what the board is here for.

jason you are missing the point...again... There are several threads/posts on this conversion...read them to find the info you need period. there is no need for constant posts on this.

Obviously there should only be one thread on any given topic EVER. There are at least 5 posts on the front page about swaybars, yet you contribute to this insanity by responding to one? I'm impressed that after only a month of activity here you have such a keen sense of how things should work.

If it wasnt for Jason, Karl, Andy, and others. I wouldnt have the info I do now to do this upgrade. The people who take the time to ask questions. And post these part numbers and pictures. Should be rewarded for there efforts. You never know when someone will have something new to add.

I dont see anything wrong with someone thats excited about doing this swap sharing it with others either. Ive been around this board for years and there will always be repeat posts thats just part of it Let everyone have ther fun.

I didn't say you don't have a working knowledge of cars, but you don't yet appear to have a working knowledge of how this forum works.

I am simplely stateing that there should be 1 maybe 2 posts/threads on a subject. repeated threads get lost and confusing. This is the last comment I am going to say on this. I am stateing a simple objective to go to. If what parts/items or whatever cannot get said in 1 thread then how can get it get said in 50?...
I am saying before posting a new thread use the search for past threads, you will be amazed at what you will find and even more surprised that about every 2-3 months the same thread repeats itself.

I have never seen any detailed photos of 1LE conversion items on ANY thirdgen post!I have been responsible for many of these photos being posted. As I have taken them myself. I did this because I was very frustrated with the lack of quality, detailed images. It's hard to imagine what an assembled spindle(without caliper) looks like. So you need some photos. It seems to have helped a lot.
I have taken my 1LE conversion for several hair raising road tests this week end. Very interesting findings. Where should I post them? Or search the archives?

Andy,

You've done a great job. The pics are awesome and will be the pics that I use when chopping up my spindles ("grind a little here and grind a little there" - ROFLMFAO). Don't worry about the useless banter ... just let it roll off ya.

I posted about the '90-'92 conversion stuff because nobody has truly covered this topic and when someone DOES discuss it there is always many diffent answers. I'll get to the bottom of it (with a little help of course ).
