Pulls To One Side During Hard Stops

I got a 83 Camaro and it pulls hard to the left under hard braking causing the left wheel to lock and the right kicks in after a second or two. I have replaced the calipers, rotors, and pads, also adjust the rear brakes. Any ideas?

One of your rubber brake lines is collapsing and causing the fluid to get to that wheel slower. The inside of the brake lines will collapse over time. Replace the rubber lines going to your calipers and that should fix your problem.

you can also get the braided steel lines from earl or russel wich are a little better.

From your description (kicks left, then kicks right), I'd say your right hose is the one that's shot. BUT- replace them both at the same time; it's safer that way.

i had the same problem a few months back. Try bleeding the brake lines, If one bleeds slower than the other (or not at all) then you know the problem is in the hose.

Replace both hoses at the same time. it's not too hard, but you will need to bleed the brakes afterwards.

BTW, after i replaced the hoses the car stopped smoothly. I can almost guarantee that the one hose is bad on your car.

I had the pulls-when-braking problem until I replaced both front brake lines about 3 days ago. Problem gone. Total cost $24.00 and about 2 hours labor.
