ok, i cant stand the way my car takes bumps. i think its gonna fall apart every time a hit a railroad crossing. so i am getting sfc. well first ? is. i called some muffler shops and only one place will do them. the guy said 70 bucks. well he said he has never done them before. is it easy for him to screw them up? if they are welded on wrong can they not work?
my next ? is i am going to be buying the sfc from jegs. they are the jegster $179.99 82-92 camaro/firebird ones. they say 60% stronger then the comp. and clear stock exaught. so are these as good as shopn, alston, ect. jegs is a 30 min drive from here so if they are around the same quaility i will just go there. ok, one more. the jegster one are bolt-on/weld-on, are those anydifferent from strictly weld-on sfc? my car rides soooo bad i just want to make a wise choice.
i thought about bolting them on myself and the having the guy welding them. i just want to make sure if he does these that its not hard to do.

i've saw the jegster stuff in the store, i wouldn't buy it, but it's your call not mine. i made my own and welded them on after doing a little research here and in catalogs. you want the car to sit as it does when it's sitting on the tires, not lifted in the air. i took some reading with an angle finder with the car sitting level. then jacked it up with jack stands under the control arms and rear end, used 1/2" ply wood for shims (my garage floor slopes to a drain) under the jack stand to get the same readings as before. it's not hard to weld in or to make them for that matter. took me a weekend to do it all, not working on it very much or very steady.

Get something better than those. The best type is the ones that go all the way from front to rear just inside the door sills, not like the IRS/Alston ones.
Don't go with the low bid for installation, that's about the dumbest thing you can do if you're trying to get a job done right. Since time = money, by doing that you basically guarantee yourself that somebody will just slap them up on there with no attention to detail, and you'll probably end up with garbage.
Get a frame shop to put them on for you. They have measuring equipment and tools to make the car exactly square and level before they weld them. The job should cost around $125-150.

I welded mine in myself. Borrowed a drive-on lift at a muffler shop. It's a piece of cake, and they shouldn't have much trouble even if it's their first time.
Like everyone else says, the most important thing is that the car is level, square, and the suspension is loaded when they're welded in.
Also, it sounds like you need to hunt down some rattles in the car. Most of them are going to be in the door and door-panel.
