Bolt on SFC, which to get
Bolt on SFC, which to get
I'm looking to order some sfc and have been trying to do the research myself, but have run into a problem. I still don't know which ones are the good ones and what to look for in a good bolt in sfc. I do know that even though the weld in ones are stronger, I want the bolt in ones. If you guys could give me your recomendations and a link to a site that I can read up on them, that would be great. Thanks.

Considering that the bolt-in ones are usually more expensive and less strong, why do you want them?

If you are looking for ease of installtion, the bolt on SFC are the way to go, but the they tear up the holes where you bolt them on. If you get bolt ons, have someone atleast tack weld them in place afterwards.

I might do that all that later, but for now I want the bolt ons. Any sugestions on which ones are the best for the dollar. Are there any that I can bolt on now and weld in later? I'm just having a hard time finding info.

A few people on here did recommend getting them welded in place when I asked. But others said they had years of problem free use without welding them. I was looking at the Jegster and got quite a few plus's on here about them. www.jegs.com They cost about $180 and say that they'll clear the stock exhaust.
I haven't gotten them yet, but they seem to be the most cost effective. Weld on's are probably (certainly) stronger, but by the time you pay for the welding, you gonna be way over $300 total cost. I just want more rigidity, not goobs of horsepower. Not yet anyway.

Does anybody know if the Jegs SFC will clear SLP headers with dual cats?
