Where do you get a "Wonderbar"

I've heard so much about the Wonderbar, I was hoping someone could tell me where I could buy one. I found a GM part # for it and GM says it's discontinued. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it!

Who exactly did you ask? I got mine not two months ago from a Chevy dealer parts department. They shipped it from Michigan.

They are still available from GM. I bought mine a couple of weeks ago.

If you can't find a dealer in the next week or so, let me know. Tom Oates Chev in PA can get it for you.

Forget the GM stamped steel crap. Get a roll cage style tube version from Global West. www.thunderracing.com Only 44 bucks and probably 400 times stiffer than the GM crap. Everyone should have one at that price!

would a 91 z28 have the wonderbar or was it just on a iroc. Also what does it do and where does it go??? I have problems with the tires slipping when it shifts into second. The strange thing is that the car is an auto maybe I just need a wonderbar.

You may have one (my sis has one on her stock 91 Z). The wonderbar wont solve the tire slippage prob, though, totally differnt problem. Here is a link to a wonderbar install page - http://sethirdgen.org/wbar.htm . Sounds like you need lower control arm relocation brackets, and maybe some new lower control arms while you are at it. You will definately feel the difference in bite after putting them on. Spohn ( www.spohn.net ), and BMR ( www.bmrfabrication.com ) both make very good suspension stuff, and both sell the parts I mentioned.

Maybe the wonderbar only came with the L98 engine because mine is a LB9 and also I have an auto. Maybe the g92 had the wonderbar on it. I would like to figure this out so I will start a new topic.

Why are you complaining about 1-2 shift tire spin????? That would be a good thing in a "stock" setup. I'd say fix that with LCA's and re-locator brackets, maybe a torque arm.

Or you could just back off the gas.LOL

I am not complaining it is just that when you spin you loose some of your tires and those ain't cheap.
