kyb shock tq qustion
I'm looking for the specs for the back part were the stud bolts to the axle, there's a washer and nut that sqwashs the rubber together aginst the stud what are the tq specs for that nut? On the sheet it says to tq the shock to the axle tube to oem specs... but nothing about the back side so I tryed to run oem specs on that as well and ened up mushrooming the wash and bending the lock washer.

That sounds like you're not putting it together right.
The short side of the stud with the larger threads goes to the bracket on the axle, with the long smooth part pointing rearwards. A nut goes on the front to hold it in. Based on its hardware size just like ALL torque specs are, it should be around 70-80 ft-lbs. Not super critical... tight enough, but not so tight you strip the threads, is about it.
Then the shock slips onto the smooth part of the stud with its bushing in it, and the washer and a smaller nut hold that on. Again, based on hardware size, that one should be around 55 ft-lbs. And, about on the same level of being critical, as the other one.
At no time is there ever an issue with crushing the bushing. If that's happening, something is getting put together wrong.

Me not put something together rights rare, its all right.
I think what happened is the lock wash dug into the flat washer and started to mushroom it, i have had the rear end out a few times so iv taken these off a few times too i just cant remember what i used to torque these too.
No specs for this. so your saying 55lbs?

I went ahead and bought some grade 8 washer this time too.

That diagram is not right.
For our cars, the stud goes turned around the other way.
Starting at the right, you should have the bigger nut, the lockwasher for it, the SHORT end of the stud (a thick section of it should be up against the bracket), the bracket welded to the axle tube, the LONG end of the stud, slide the shock bushing over the LONG end of the stud, the cup-shaped washer, the smaller lockwasher, the smaller nut.
Yes I'm saying about 55 ft-lbs on the smaller nut, and around 75ish on the larger one.

The kybs have a two nuts un like most the ones that have a stud and nothched at the end for a open end wrench so there are no specs for the small nut on the back of the shock that bolts to the axle tube.. Here's a pic, this was before the lock washer eat the flate washer. I was just playing with some angles on my lcarbs before I weld them. "Edit" I guess I can't upload dirticly from my phone. All post a pic later
