Brake Problems
Brake Problems
A couple of nights go on my way home I tried to race a Grand National ( with a stock 305, foolish I know ) but when I tapped the brakes to slow down the car pulled hard to the drivers side momentarilly. The car also shudders when I slow down sometimes. I thought it was because of my wasted drag link but I replaced it and it didn't stop the problem. Are my calipers sticking? Warped Rotor?

I would almost bet the shuddering is a warped rotor. Did you get on the binders hard when it pulled or was it just normal braking?
I had the same problem with my car but it veered left everytime i braked. It turned out that my front right caliper was seized. It also sounds like your rotors need machined. My caliper also seemed to stick at stop signs until i gave it a little gas.
Take it to Midas and they should look at your brakes for free and tell you what's wrong with them.

Car pulling could be many things, caliper locked as stated previously, proportioning valve, clogged brake line, etc. The shuddering sounds like rotors that need to be machined.
Just a side note: I have not had good experiences with Midas, they tried to tell me that there was more wrong with a car than what really was. Find a good mechanic and have them check it. Or if you have a friend that is good with brakes have him take a look at it.

Well, i had the same problem and i rebuilt both brake calipers ect, ect, but the cure was to replace both front flexable brake lines. Don't get them mixed up as there is a left and a right. Good Luck.

Thanks for the info. I just pulled my master cylinder top and found that my brake fluid is now "chocolate milk", so I will be flushing the system and checking all of the areas you suggested. Thanks again for the help.
