Silicone -brake- lube?

So, is this the same as silicone dielectric grease (for spark plug wire boots)? To rebuild the m/c, you need some silicone brake lube on the reservoir grommets. The local auto store sells little tiny packets for $0.50 of silicone brake lube; I used a few when I rebuilt the rear calipers. (I needed the stuff for the caliper's slides/mounting bushings and mounting bolts.) I wasn't sure if the stuff was the same as regular 'ol dielectric. I can't remember ever seeing anything marketed as "silicone brake lube".

Thanks in advance!

I may not be totally right here, but I thought the brake lube was for brake fluid compatibility. For use on internal brake parts. I've always heard that you can use lithium grease on any of the "external" parts (like mounting hardware and the floating sliders).

No kidding... I didn't know that. Is it maybe because silicone's the best lube for the slides?

The guys on the tech board gave me the answer; the silicone brake lube is the same as dielectric grease. However, it turns out I don't need any; (see my msg about the master cylinder) my m/c rebuild kit didn't come with the reservoir-to-housing grommets.
