You need a heavier BFH or a pickle fork.

I had no luck with a pickle fork on the pitman--and I used a four-pound sledge. I rented a puller from AutoZone and within seconds I was good to go.

Re: how do i get my centerlink off!

Seriously, a pickle fork is a wedge type fork with a handle for pounding on, used for taking apart most front end parts, ball joints, tie rod ends etc. You should use a pitman puller for the pitmam arm, which is a U shape puller designed especially for pitman's. And at least a 2lb hammer (BFH). Hope this helps.

JamesC brought it up as an example that sometimes pickle forks don't work too good.

Re: how do i get my centerlink off!

especially when you use one to take the pitman off the box. should probably buy another gearbox after that.

Re: how do i get my centerlink off!

Are you removing the idler arm with the centerlink? When I removed mine recently that's what I did. This way you only have to worry about getting it off the pitman arm. I soaked the pitman/centerlink bolt in WD40 and let it sit overnight. The next day I removed the idler arm bolts from the body of the car and then used the leverage from the centerlink to dislodge the pitman/centerlink bolt (after removing the nut). It dropped right out.
