Autozone 1LE front caliper numbers
I've been looking on this board like crazy and I can't find them in any posts. Also, it seems like they're site is AFU and it won't let you search to get them. Little help???
Thanks...

Yo, Ed!
It has been Hell since our 1LE temp. brake bracket discussion was eliminated, hasn't it? Anyway, the Autozone calipers are C364 and C365, or at least that's what on the boxes that I got. If that isn't correct, let me know and we'll try something else. However, if memory serves me, and at my age, it rarely does, there was somebody that claimed he could get NEW calipers from another source for not much more than the Autozone calipers, which are the cheapest around. What I got from Autozone was one new caliper and one reman. I'm pretty sure the other source was Auto Value. Put that name into a search engine (try AutoValue also) and it should take you to a site where you can do a search for a local outlet. If none of this works, shoot me a note and we'll try something else.

You got that right. I can't find anything anymore. Thanks for the numbers. Those look right. I think I'll just go down to Autozone and throw that number at 'em and see what I get. Some guys' calipers came with the pins...did yours?
Also, I think another source for them was TA Creations or some 'Vette supplier down in FL...I can't remember at the moment....around $100 each, still pretty good. The calipers are the last major part I need to finish my upgrade. We'll see what happens.
Thanks again..
Ed

C364 and C365 sounds about right(fenco-reman)...they didn't come with the pins or clips though...they also have a loaded set but i don't remember much about them. When you get them check the piston diameter on both of them, one of mine had bigger pistons and wouldn't hold the brakepad the way it was suppose to so I had to exchange it...

Thanks for the help JT.
I think that Vette supplier I was thinking of is Vette Brakes, but AGAIN I can't find the tread with the part numbers. I remember the price though..$109 each, and I'm pretty sure they're the non-HD ones. Not bad as a last resort.
Damn I miss that 1LE board!!!!

What did they DO with those threads? I sure hope they didn't just erase them. Do you suppose we could talk the moderators into making a board, maybe under a different name, to continue discussing that topic?

Hey Tex!
Yes, you can get 1LE calipers from AutoZone. You are also correct that there are other parts that are necessary. The last time I checked, all the associated parts were still available from GM, except for one critically important part. However, Steve Spohn may be able to get that one critically important part, as well as the other parts. We are still waiting to here from Steve on this subject.

Vette Brakes ( http://www.vettebrakes.com/ )in Florida has the calipers for $109 each .. they are BRAND NEW , not rebuilt , no core required ... 1LE is the vette brakes on a camaro ... so they are the same caliper .. the HD caliper is for the 13" rotors ... the cradles are different which is why we keep bringing up Steven Spohn's name in vain !! we were all told that in October he would have a "package" ... we all complained about having to wait 120 days then ... guess that fell on deaf ears !!!! they are 120 days late now !!! and still NO WORD from spohn ..or the voice of spohn on the subject .. ANDYZ28 ??? .... so should someone else make contact with PBR and get the project running again ???? BTW the 4th gen Caliper and bracket are only about .250" difference in thier mounting points !!! if you haven't modded your spindles ...you might be able to hack and use the 4th gen (98-up) setup ... I just put one on my 93Z ... next I'll be measuring up the REST for a convertion on 3rd gens !!! you can get that setup for $250 ALL DAY LONG !!!! since I'm turning blue holding my breath waiting for 1LE's again :\
