How much did you pay to get you SFC's welded?
I bought Alston subframe connectors and am taking them to get welded in at a body shop later this week. Was wondering what i should expect to pay?

Re: How much did you pay to get you SFC's welded?
well if this gives you any idea I had a set of internal and outter ones custom made for my 91 vert and labour and materials (the guy made them in my garage) it cost me 450$. Most welders charge anywhere from 15 to 25$/hour up here in canada and you are looking at about 2 to 3 hours of work to weld them in if you dont do any of the prep yourself, meaning grinding where the welds are going to be degreassing and painting afterwards. I could not see it being more than 100$ for somebody to do it for you.
if you have anybody that does mobile welding that would be your best bet chances are they would be a lot cheaper than the body shop and quite often (almost all the time) it will be a better weld since those guys are really used to welding upside down, which always sucks!(got nice scars to prove it)

Re: How much did you pay to get you SFC's welded?
Payed nothing - because I did it myself. At a shop charge of around 300 bucks, I saw it as an opportunity to buy a MIG at the local Farm & Fleet for 275 bucks and learn to weld...well, I guess I paid 275, but I get to keep the welder for other projects!
Now, I'm not saying I knew how to weld like a pro (some are pretty ugly), but all the welds are pretty much hidden anyway. I'm getting better at it as I go. They've held tight so far for over 2 years and no cracking etc..
Of course, if you don't own a garage or have a place to do it, I'd just have a body shop handle the whole thing - and insist that if there's any issues within say....90 days, they fix it on thier dime. Good luck either way. You'll notice a difference once installed - at least I sure did!

Re: How much did you pay to get you SFC's welded?
My Spohn Boxed designed one cost me ~$180 labor (I removed the interior). I even had them do LCA brackets and put LCA on at the same time since they would have 1 side undone anyways. My 8 point Roll Bar was ~$300 labor, but I did most of the setup myself (cut, mocked up, scribed lines, help hold the bars in place as the guy MIG'd them).

Free, including the SFCs themselves...
Friend was building a race car jig and needed a car; so as payment for using my car for about a week as the template, he bolted it down to the jig (ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY PERFECTLY STRAIGHT AND SQUARE to within 1/16" or so) and welded em in.

Somewhere around $250.00. The shop also welded in the LCA relocation brackets. Both of these were Spohns.

For that kind of money i don't know why no one is investing in a welder.

Maybe they don't wanna welder. Some people have passion for cars but dont have passion to do the work themself.
I paid nothing. My dad welds. But I do work at a shop. And if we did that. We would charge around 200.00. But this is in California. Where we gotta pay up the *** for everything.
