Chassis K-member bolts
So i currently have a spohn k-member on my car for sbc but i'll be swapping to ls1. I have considered just going back to the stock k-member to save cost and just run conversion mounts. Still got the stock k-member but the bolts are no where to be found! Don't really want to use the old hardware anyway. So does anyone know what size or where to track down some new ones would be? Would be much appreciated.
Re: Chassis K-member bolts
SBC vs LSx tubular K's only difference is the mount pad location. A simple plate adapter can correct this issue without ordering a fresh K-member
You can use SBC mounts with the classic car 1" setback adapters (<$40) or drill a piece of 1/4" plate to move the mounts back and use the Spohn stands with Fbody LS1 mounts
To answer your question:
Front M12 x 1.75 x 115
Middle M12 x 1.75 x 89
Rear M12 x 1.75 x 31 w/ a washer

Exactly what i was looking for. I knew the mount was the only difference but didn't know by how much and that i can just use some universal 1" setback plates. That will save a lot of time and money. I really didn't want to go back to the stock k-member...or have to sell this one and buy another tubular.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Chassis K-member bolts
Be warned the SBC mounts interfere with the 4th gen AC compressor. Non AC swaps, 3rd gen compressor retrofits and clever people with grinders can figure out how to make it work still

A/C was removed long time ago, never plan on it going back in but thanks for the heads up.
Mount like these will work? http://carshop.carshopinc.com/produc.../98457/CSP2370

Re: Chassis K-member bolts
Do any of you happen to know where I can get this size of bolts? I'm looking online and am not able to find any. I am putting in a new BMR tubular k member and want new bolts. No sense in using these old rusty ones I already have.....

look in your area under fasteners. We have a place locally where I'm at. They can get any bolt in color any rating they have them in stock.

Re: Chassis K-member bolts
So I found some bolts through some awesome customer service through Spohn!
My question is when I bolt them in the shoulders are so long that I am not able to tighten and there is like an inch gap between the k member and the car. The k member did come with some aluminum spacers, so I don't know if I am supposed to use those to stop the bolt head? Not sure if that makes sense. Let me know your guys thought!!
Thanks!

Re: Chassis K-member bolts
The bolts are bottoming are bottoming out threads. It's a BMR k member and BMR said specifically to use the factory length bolts. Which is why I am being thrown for a loop....

Re: Chassis K-member bolts
Never mind guys. After talking to BMR the suspension specialist I told me incorrectly to use the factory size bolts on the new k member. He thought I was working on a 4th gen. No wonder I was being thrown for a loop....
