Find a rust free car in the junkyard and cut out the parts you need, clean them up. Cut the bad stuff out of your car, and weld away. There is waaay more to this but Im not typing a 5,000 page how to. lol
lots of stuff on the net and in books about bodywork.
goodluck!

Am I seeing it wrong? Looks like the rocker panel is rusted, but the LCA looks fine to me.

id guess theres extensive cancer hidden under there. your probably seeing the least of the rot. get a chipping hammer & go to town,...then re-evaluate the damage. might be worth selling it? looks like extensive damage. you can buy new control arms fairly cheap, but kinda looks extensive. im a welder by trade for 20+ years, just giving you a heads up.

Re: Help with my rusted out control arm
Easiest cheeeepest and safest way to fix that, 2 easy steps:
1. Throw that car away.
2. Buy another.
See, I told you it was eeeeeeeezy.
That car is smoked. If it looks like that in that particular spot, then it looks EXACTLY the same everywhere else. After all, the rest of the car has been subject to the EXACT SAME amount of salt for the EXACT SAME length of time with the EXACT SAME lack of common-sense preventive maintenance (occasional washing) and is the EXACT SAME thickness OR LESS. The car is ruined. Garbage. I'm surprised the driver's seat hasn't fallen down TO THE GROUND while driving down the road, yet. Or, maybe it has?
