Anyone with Moog Iroc springs 5665s
It has been a year since i have let the car settle with these moog 5665 IROC springs and ive seen no subtle changes in ride height in the rear. My Fuel pump just happens to take a **** so i figured it would be a good time to chop some *** off the rear while i'm at it.
Front

Rear

The front is good but the rear sets up like a 4640 John deer tractor, should i cut a half a coil or a whole coil?

I assume you mean 5665. If so, I had the same experience. I'd cut a half and see where you're at.

I dumped the OE isolators in favor of radiator hose.

heater hose and not radiator hose. cutting the springs stiffens them, make the back too stiff and you have an unsafe car.

unless you running a sub or otherwise have some weight in the boot, I don't think even a coil lobbed off, and the isolators removed, will get you where you want to be in terms of ride height
See attached pic; I'd say the front of my car is the same height as yours (can get a finger between the arch and the wheel). So far, I've cut 1 and a quarter coils off of the rear of my moog cargo coils and it still has a distinctive rake. I'm running a single 12" and an amp in the boot.
I should mention that with a half coil off the rear and full coil off the front my car handled very predictively and broke in a neutral manner (slight front plow - safe). Now that I've lobbed another 3/4 coil off of the rear, I fear I might have created an oversteering monster!
only the track will tell me for sure...

car is heavy enough with the chrome 17s. So in all you cut 2 coils off the rear in total and the rear still sets up 1 inch to high? Then again i could live with your stance over mine anyday. I do mean Anything is better then this tractor pull i have setting in the garage even with the saggy stock rs springs set perfect until you gave it gas and it slammed down on the bumpstops so hard i thought my 10 bolt hit the ground. I'm a smart driver IMO I don't act a fool when i drive, hell i don't even drive my car in the rain or snow. The spring rate offset will be fine with 275hp and 330ft/lbs.
Tomorrow i will see what i come up with. I'm starting with 1 Coil maybe half. Last edited by 89rs454; Nov 25, 2011 at 06:04 PM.

I like the stance but i still think i need to cut a quarter to half a coil? Opinions?
Re: Anyone with Moog Iroc springs 5665s
You do need to drop that down! I put new Moogs all round on my previous car and I think I took a coil and a half off the back and a full coil off the front. No 'unsafe' handling issues- in fact it 'stuck like GLUE!' in the corners according to my 8 year-old passenger!

Re: Anyone with Moog Iroc springs 5665s
I ended up cutting iirc 1.5 coils off my 5665s and they were still extremely soft. With half coil cut 5664s up front and a 34/21 sway bar combo the car would no oversteer not matter what you did.
