Front LCA spherical bearings

Anyone know of someone making a spherical bearing kit for our front LCAs? I know Global West makes a kit for the 4th gens but I can't seem to find any for the 3rd gens.

In case your not sure what I'm talking about, here is a link to their 4th gen kit... http://www.globalwest.net/sp-7.html

UB Maching makes a solid bushing.. http://www.ubmachine.com/lowerbushings.html but that is still a bushing and not what I'm looking for.

And I can't seem to find any at Speedway Motors whom I thought carried something similar to the global west setup. GW just need to go ahead and make some for our cars!

Re: Front LCA spherical bearings

Could yall post some links? I just searched Founders and the only thing for our cars front suspension they have is Camber/Caster plates. And I have also searched GW's site and still don't see a listing for our cars for those spherical bearings. Maybe I'm blind but I don't see them.

that IS a spherical bearing, not a bushing, look at the pic, its a housing with a spherical bearing, press fit i assume (though i do see a retaining ring), inside it. Thats what you want, no?

Global West # 1022

They're the Del-A-Lum bushings. Aluminum shaft encased in Delrin. No bind. Much faster turning response. These are the best that you can do with a 3rd gen.

I see that is says 82-02 at the top but our cars and the 4th gens have different lower a arms and the part specs only specify 93+ cars.

And the UB Machine stuff just looks like a solid bushing that will only allow up and down movement. And if the control arm mounts are not exactly aligned that could cause binding. They look a bit similar to the GW spherical bearings but I do believe they are just bushings. I guess if I cannot find anything I will just grab some of the UB stuff. I will give GW a call after xmas break to see if what they offer will actually fit a 3rd gen..

Re: Front LCA spherical bearings

Right from Your UB link, this is a spherical bearing!

and even if you use a bearing vs a bushing, if the 2 mounts are misaligned, the bearing will be no different than a solid bushing, they will both bind. However, if the mounts are not aligned, the k-member is damaged and will need repair or replacement
