Creaking and car is uneven?

As I drive around I hear creaking coming from the passenger side front suspension. I know it's the suspension because if you push on the car it creaks. But not always! Sometimes it's really bad, sometimes it barely does it, sometimes not at all. I noticed today at the store that my car was sitting uneven. I looked at the gaps above the front wheels and the gap on the passenger side is smaller. What could it be? I looked at it one day and didn't see anything wrong. But I also didn't know what to look for. Any help? Here are the gaps if it helps. First pic of the driver side.

No grease in/on your bushings, could also be the shock as well. Would bet on the lack of lubrication!

Re: Creaking and car is uneven?

We lubed it all up when we replaced the ball joints and everything. That was a while ago. This started maybe 3 weeks ago?

How about the center link? Double check the shock towers, there should be a rubber grommet at the top of the springs, sometimes this dry rots and falls apart. It's gonna be one of the bushings that's doing it,

Try bouncing the car around and pin pointing the sound, Have a buddy rock it, hold your ear to the car, the louder it gets, the closer you are! Just had this problem on my buddies explorer.

Re: Creaking and car is uneven?

looks like a coil spring issue. broke or just worn out.

Re: Creaking and car is uneven?

I know I have a broken spring, but that's the driver side. I have bounced the car around and I know it is the the front passenger side. I'll look at the spring and see if the rubber piece is there. How do I check the bushings?

Remove the spring. Since the isolator is only a quarter inch thick or so, I doubt that's your issue.

Remove the spring to check the rubber piece? I forgot to mention that I can feel it while driving. Like something is hitting the floor around the pedal. At first I posted on here and they said the trans mount may be loose. But it's not that.

Yes, to check the isolator, the spring has to be removed.

Though the trans mount may 'look' fine, it could easily be the culprit--especially if the knock/clunk occurs on hard acceleration. I'd suggest a double check, if you haven't already.

Re: Creaking and car is uneven?

I know it's been a while but here's an update. That creaking ended up being my ball joint. Well I ASSUME it was based on the fast that it came apart on the highway. wonderful.... Anyway, I did my springs all around, and the car sets even now. Now there's a squeak in the rear, only when the tires are on? I put new end links all around too. I still seem to have a sound in the front when slowing down rapidly, like something is shifting forward, if that makes sense. No idea what that is. It still shakes like crazy above 70, and seems to have a small wobble at lower speeds, SOMETIMES. And, the steering is off. Just had an alignment done, but still just doesn't seem right. And help guys thanks!
