Which Lower A-Frame do I have?

I have a 1989 IROC-Z, but it has the 15'' wheels not the 16'' wheels.
Do I have the 15'' Lower A-Frame Part #14083562 or the 16" Lower A-Frame Part # 14091390?
I know in 1985-1987 all IROC-Z's came stock with 16'' wheels giving them the 16'' Lower A-Frames. But in 1988-1990 all IROC-Z's came stock with 15" wheels, the 16'' wheel was actually an option. So did all 1988-1990 IROC-Z's come with the 16" A-Frame part # 14091390 regardless of wheel size?

Mines an '89 Iroc Z28 with 15'' wheels and it says for steering stops (88-89 Exc Z28), which mine is a Z28 so it can't be that. And the other says (88-89 W/Z28), but thats for 16'' wheels and I have 15'' wheels. Doesn't make sense! All IROC - Z28's had a total different suspension then all base camaro's. Its just confusing for 1988-1990 IROC's because 16'' wheels were an option for those years. So if we have an IROC within those years with 15'' wheels, did we get the same A-Arms as the 16" wheel options did? I'm sure it would have been a alot easier to swap out four wheels on an IROC from 15" to 16", then Changing the wheels and A-Arms too for a wheel upgrade! If you know what I mean.

I still don't know what size my A-Frame's are?? Anyone know the answer....?

If you look on Ebay, look up Lower A-frame and it will display a picture.
The Lower A-Frame has a triangle look to it. There's one on each side of the front wheels. The inside of the Lower A-Frame has two bushings that bolts into the K-Member also known as the(crossmember). The K member is whats underneath in the middle thats craddles the engine. The Lower part of the front strut bolts to the center of the Lower A-Frame. The Lower Ball Joint is on the outside of the Lower A-Frame. And the Spindle is what sits on the Lower Ball joint.. and the Spindle holds the brakes and wheel...etc

I think riew is well aware of what the equipment is and what it does. TGO members typically call the part an A-arm. Personally, I've never seen it referred to as a frame.

As to your question, if the A-arms on your car are stock and the bump stops never replaced (which in most instances is the case), measure them. The link above provides measures for both 15's and 16's.

A-Arm.. A-Frame.. you guys know what I mean.

Thats a good idea.. yeah everythings stock so I'll measure the Bumber stops and see if there 2" or 2 1/4". Not really a big distinction in size but thats the only thing I can go on now.
Thanks JamesC.
I'll post the results!

Re: Which Lower A-Frame do I have?

Ok I measured the bump stops and they are 2''.

So if anyone was wondering like me if you have a 1988-1990 IROC-Z and you have the stock 15'' wheels, you have a 15 '' A arm Part #14083562 . Just incase you have to replace an A arm you know which one to get.
