Advice on some suspension parts

So I am finally ordering some suspension stuff because my car feels like it has no grip.

I was thinking of ordering these things, is there anything else I should think about ordering?

As he car sits now it has all OLD stock parts besides new cheap springs and shocks about a year ago.

Re: Advice on some suspension parts

All that stuff should be perfectly fine...

Might want to revisit this.

cheap springs and shocks
Not that things that are good, "have to" not be "cheap"; but that sounds like in this case, it might be ,,,, .. a ...... handicap.

3.42 Open
This is another area where there's room for improvement.

Lower front control arms and caster camber plates.
A GOOD set of shocks and struts will give you the best bang. I got Tokico Blue.
you can not do half and think its good to roll. Also get some new sway bars.

Re: Advice on some suspension parts

Lower gears and a posi are comming after I finish buying suspension stuff.

How much will shocks help me? I plan on getting a quality set eventually, but they seem really expensive and I am trying to get the most effective things first.

This will be an agressive street car that will still do good on the drag strip

Re: Advice on some suspension parts

the most effective things
Shokcs are pretty darn effective in drag racing; quite probably the next most important thing after LCARBs in these cars. Probably THE MOST effective thing on the street with the possible exception of springs.

Re: Advice on some suspension parts

what about tires? what do you have? all the suspension upgrades in the world can only do so much if you don't have good tires to grip the road.

Re: Advice on some suspension parts

IMHO shocks are one of the most important. if you are looking for mainly a strip car the setup will be somewhat different than a great handleing grip car.

depends all on your budget..

i would not do on the car adjustable. to me that looks like an area that might flex under load.

as far as sway bars. you CAN use different stock bars. people have had great success in the past with these.

these are all based on a corner carver approach. however, at this point i would suspect drag would be similar

Whats your guys thoughts on lakewood struts? Or something else I can get for 4-500 a little less preferred. Should I get 70/30 or 90/10 fronts, whats the difference?

Re: Advice on some suspension parts

I'd spend the extra $10 and $6 on getting the poly/delsphere setups. You still get the zero bind aspect of rod ends (with the delsphere setup). But they're more street friendly.

TDS Wonderbar > Spohn Wonderbar. Better fitment with TDS.

Honestly though, for the $400 involved in LCA, PHB, PHB relocation brackets, you could put that money into struts/shocks and get a bigger bang for the buck.

Ive done that too many times already. I'll start with shocks and subframe connectors for niow and see how it feels first. Hopefully be able to save some money to spend on other parts
