KTRE 12 bolt BIG problem. Do i need a short torque arm?
I attempted to install a KTRE 12 bolt rear in my car today. As you can see in the picture, it has thrown my wheel base wayyyyy out of whack. Currently the car has a fully adjustable spohn suspension. control arms, LCA brackets, torque arms, and pan hard rod. i had to lengthen both the control arms to get them to bolt up. the stock rear fit the car fine so im thinking the 12 bolts pinion sticks out further. If this is the case what effect would moving my torque arm mount (also spohn with a th400 trans) forward do? has anyone else had this problem? Im lost right now..

Upload them to a site like photo bucket and link to them.
If I was not about to go to bed I would let you email them to me and I could upload them for you.

THINK:
The ring gear in the 12-bolt is over an inch larger than the ring gear in the 10-bolt. All else equal, the pinion gear would be moved to the front accordingly. But of course, all else is NOT equal; in reality, the pinion gear is LONGER than the 10-bolt one, as well, thereby moving the yoke EVEN FARTHER forward.
Put the CAs back where they belong. Shorten the drive shaft.
Torque arm might need to be shortened as well; might want to give Steve a call. He's probably seen this before.

Makes sense...
See my signature for a tip about logic.
I tend to think in that way because I'm pretty simple to begin with, and can't handle complicated stuff, and around cars (which are about as simple as it gets) that mental approach seems to work pretty well for the most part.

WOW, when I put the 440 into my 72 Charger I used a local company to make my drive shaft.
It was way cheaper then I thought it would be.
You don't have someone close by to do the work?
