Will A stock car flex?

I was wandering if anyone knew if a stock 305 Camaro with a 5 speed t tops will still twist the chassis by hard cornering or a few burnouts here and there?

Re: Will A stock car flex?

Well, these cars twist plenty without any of that at all; I doubt that doing those things will make it quit.

Park the car with one wheel higher than the others; like, pull up to your driveway along the curb, and let the RF go up the curb while the other 3 are still in the street.

Then get out and open the right door.

Then come back and YOU tell us whether these cars flex or not.

Well I guess what I meant is could I cause permanent damage? I will be getting sfc's to be safe I was just worried cause the t tops seem to fit funny now like the drivers side one is too high where it meets the windshield

Sofakingdom is a master of satire and sarcasm and knows his stuff. I get a chuckle and sometimes an LOL reading his posts. Not only do our cars flex, but the T-tops and convertibles flex the most.

Good plan installing SFCs. Also, if your car doesn't have a steering brace (wonder bar), install one. Cheap & easy to do. Will prevent your steering box from tearing itself from the chassis.

Re: Will A stock car flex?

yes... they flex... drive down the road with your hand resting on the roof at the joint where the t top meets the windshield frame- if you lay a finger on the gap, you will feel the twisting of the car from just driving down a smooth road.. i don't know if they twist enough to cause permanent damage- my car's got a gutless 305 and i don't drive it too hard- but any twist is bad..
