Tokico hpk kit thoughts

My 87 formula is due for suspension work, already have ready to go in is a wonder bar, weld in subframe connectors, rod end lca's. poly bushing's across the board.

My car will be daily driven, kind of jack of all trades, will see some strip, maybe a few road courses.

I know everyone swears by Komi yellows but I've also heard good things about tokico.

I'm looking into this setuphttp://www.tokicoperformanceshocks.c...-tohpk207.aspx
Would these be a good all around choice? They have about the drop I want as well. Or should I nut up and go koni/prokit?

were you able to find anyone still with these in stock? It sounds like Tokico's distribution chain in the US fell apart.

That's what I was afraid of, I wish there was a better price point package for lowered cars in the market right now. Oh well, guess start saving for koni.

Re: Tokico hpk kit thoughts

I have the illumina 5 way adjustables and prokit on my car since 04. Very nice package and adjustability on car makes it easy to work with. They perform really nice. I am about due for a swap tho and wish i could find them again

They still make the rears for 4th gens i believe but fromt struts i have no idea. I got my set on ebay many years ago for 400$

FYI - I just did a quick web search for "tokico illumina firebird" and found a lot of vendors who advertise them for 3rd gen cars. As an example, RacingLab advertises a full set of illuminas (front & back) for $618. The front struts are quite heavy and shipping costs will likely add a lot more to the total cost.

However, you may have to check several vendors until you find one who has them in stock. I've got Tokico Blues on my bird and love them.

That was another deal breaker, by the time I added shipping cost the konis on sale where like another 30-40$
