I guess that depends on, among other things, what springs you put in there.

You can also add rubber isolators.

Re: Rear end setting low?

Those springs basically restore the car to stock height. Put it back where it belongs.

Springs aren't your problem.

Sounds like your concern should maybe be with the misfit tires. You don't mention it, but I'd suspect there's some misfit wheels to go along with it.

What happens when the right size tires and wheels are on it?

Why would you want to do that? Got too much traction already? Not enough wheel hop? Need to go slower in the 60' especially? That'll fix all of those problems.

A better plan would be to put wheels and tires on the car THAT FIT.

I hear aPal--- Boy O Boy do I hear ya.
TRUTH- I also have centerlies with exactly the same 295/50/15's The previous owner put a Replicar Fiberglass Kit onand it weighs down the ar soooo much that he had to put AIR SHOCKS in. The AS does the job of raising the rear wheel wells but not sure I like the ride. ROUGH - see my other thread on this----- I am thinking of taking some air out of the rear tires from 26- down to 22 lbs. To help with ride. and dont go over 35 lbs of air in the Air Shocks "AS". May switch to a beafier set of COILS from GM as a replacement. Keep in touch.

From what little I have read on these threads-the stock coils are 160's. They are shaped like a buxom babe with more coil area up TOP and narrow down with smaller coil dia below . The TOP compresses to give a cushioned effect and then the lower half COILS kick in to keep the car from bottoming out. Many here say that the stock Coils are weak- Judging by the Air Shocks on my tank - I agree- these stock coils are weak. See about 170's coils
.
I plan on taking my Tank to a Metal Reclaimation yard and ask to have my Tank weighed. Front End-- Rear End and total weight to know EXACTLY what kind of COILS my Tank needs. I think Im probably 500-750 heavier than the stock weight of an 84 Trans Am. Its a Replicar Ferrari 512 . Good luck.
