Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: steering box bolt size??

If memory serves they are 12mm, "std" thread for that size. (not sure but I think it's 1.5mm) Something around 120mm long, maybe a bit more. Doesn't matter if they're a little too long.

Special type of bolts. Junkyard pull or dealer only.

They're probably metric but should also be a flanged head, tapered starting thread etc.

LOL hybrid cars! Probably metric threads with standard head size! Silly GM in the 80's!

Re: steering box bolt size??

Metric bolts started around 1979 for the steering gear.
Home Depot doesn't do metric bolts to suit car applications like that.

GM shows disco. on the bolts. Call a salvage yard. Or hit the classifieds on here.

I have a 1984 camaro Z28 I am parting out, give me a couple of days to get engine and all out and I could pull the bolts for you.

$10 + shipping for the 3 gearbox to frame mounting bolts.

Re: steering box bolt size??

For bolts like that unless you want to try to make hardware store bolts work (which you can find at home depot, lowes, ace, tractor supply, etc), as far as I know the only source is used from a car. Junk yard, or used parts dealer. Hawks, third gen ranch, camaro heaven, etc would have them.

I have them. $10 + shipping for the 3 gearbox to frame bolts.

How can I purchase them from you? I would only purchase the ones from s hardware store until I receive the ones from you to be on the safe side

Re: steering box bolt size??

Do you have paypal? If so then just give me your zip code so I can get you a shipping quote, then just send the money through paypal and your name/shipping address and I will mail/ship them right out to you.

I do my very best to do next day after payment shipping and most times depending on location you will get item 2 to 4 days after I ship it out.
