Help! Can't get front coil spring in....
Got all the old stuff out, can't get the new Vogtland spring back in. of course. I have a internal type spring compressor.. but that seems 100% useless or I have no idea how to use it.

I still had my strut on but I just raised the lower control arm slightly from full droop and used a prybar to seat the springs without a compressor. The spring could not seat untill the arm was raised.
How long are the Vogtland springs? My replacement springs were a hair over 13" tall.

Thanks! Pretty much what I ended doing to get it to work. Just used a pry bar and some leverage to get it up and in there. I'll measure the other spring tomorrow morning, one to go...

An idea I did that worked well is use the compressor to clamp spring to the lower control arm then lift straight up to attach to spindle and LCA bushing bolts. If remember right had to compress the spring to 10.5" long. Use spacer between plate under LCA to prevent screw sticking out top of spring ( I found the Autozone rental compressor easiest to make work for this method)
