Jegs has a set, brand name Jegster, they are box tubing bolt ins. But alot of people bolt them in and then weld. They are the cheapest available new.

UMI makes connecters that fit your requirements. A quality product with a significant number of weld points and are the ones I will be installing.=

I installed Global West 904's on mine. They are round tube instead of square. Weld in, "outer" style which mounts to the rocker panel, vs the Mac "inners". $189 from summit.

I know you said budget but look at the photos at the bottom of this page and you will see what separates them from the rest.

I just got them about 2 weeks ago and I don't have them in yet. I've been running a long time without them and I want to put the car on my buddy's frame rack before I put those and the bmr outers on, but with the weather we've been having around here his body shop is pretty backed up .

Re: Best budget sfc

i got a set of mac inners off ebay for $139 with shipping there round tube best bang for the buck imo then i got some 1 5/8 & 1" .120 tubing & used my friends chop saw & tube bender & made my own outers & connected the two together with cross braceing got about $240 into the whole job not counting paint i did both at the same time so not getting into the inner vs outer debate but its hard to beat the mac at that price

Re: Best budget sfc

Try to find a set that reach the pinch rail. If you can connect to the pinch rail in several locations, chassis strength will be greatly improved over two sticks connecting the F/R via small pads

Re: Best budget sfc

The UMi ones are nice, and congradulations on the house.
Though I wouldn't bother taking out the carpet, I didn't and they wielded right in, you'll burn a hole through the frame rails before you start it on fire lol

Re: Best budget sfc

IMO after its tacked in place only weld in one spot for a short pass and move around from one spot to the next never allowing one spot to get extremely hot. Its when you keep the rod in one spot for a longer duration is where you create those high temps.
UMI, nice pick.

Re: Best budget sfc

This is a set of spohn SFC. Tubular design. I had these welded in last year. could not be happier. Love the way they feel on the car. Here are some pics. I had them welded in at a speed shop and Watched them weld them in. Good to know they welded them in correct. Not needing to step in to correct them is always a plus. Always nerves when someone else is working on my car. We all are lol.

Weight that low on the car isn't bad for handling but yes it is added weight. Either way these cars NEED sfc, might as well use good strong ones.

These things are not that expensive for what they do regardless of the brand. I've put UMI's on both my Firebird and my son's Camaro. Really make the car solid and half the rattles disappeared on my T-top!

Re: Best budget sfc

If you have the skills to weld them in you can just make them for <$30 in square steel tubing.

That is budget.
