Towing capacity / ability to be towed
My Third Gen is a 89 camaro rs with the 305 tbi and the turbo auto trany, im planning a move and im wondering how the car does towing a small trailer with say a 500 pound motorcycle on it. Im also curious about the cars ability to be towed behind a RV, ive been told its not wise to use a tow bar on cars with auto transmissions and to use a trailer instead, i was wondering if anyone had any opinions they wished to share. TY
Re: Towing capacity / ability to be towed
If you tow the car take the driveshaft out and get a capplug to fit the tailshaft or a spare yoke. The trans will get ruined if you go very far. There is no lubrication on the internals when it's not running.

Re: Towing capacity / ability to be towed
He's not talking about towing the car, hes talking about using the car to tow a trailer. I wouldn't use it to tow anything, rent a uhaul.
edit- didn't fully read his post, he is talking about towing the car as well, disconnect the drive shaft and get a plug as stated above
