I can't decide.... help me out with this decision so I can get these bad boys on order. Should I run black A-arms and have them blend in under the car or should I order red and have them stand out. Already have Koni yellows and Eibach sportline springs, plus my SFC's are red.

Can't decide... my car is Inferno Red Metallic btw...

I was thinking about the same thing and am going with black. I figure the only one to see them will be me.
That being said if you plan on replacing a few items throughout the car and you all ready have the red on the outside with the sub frames it could look pretty cool.

Thanks for the pics Ron... that does look good. I guess it brings your attention to performance goodies underneath the car. Which I do like... black is easy to keep clean and blends in though. But I may go with red, since it'll make the suspension look better.

On a side note, how have things been Ron? Have you done anything else with your car? Since I had mine painted last year it's been in the garage getting a LS1 & 6 speed swap. Coming along nicely and should be wrapped up by mid summer...

Food for thought (Advice I always give- and why) Colors under a car is for people who do not know what they are looking at- amateur hour. If that is the people you want to impress then I say go for it. Anyone that knows what they are looking at do not need things to be bright colors. Ive never seen a true professional race car with bright colors under it.

lol... Well of course. So with that mentality, then why do people dress up their engine, or engine compartment? The hood is closed unless its at a car show anyway.

I just think the red looks cool under a car, and besides, most people don't know what to look for. Unless they are a car enthusiast. It's just a matter of personal preference.

Just placed an order for the A-arms. Excited to add these to my other UMI suspension parts on the car. I've been very impressed with the quality and performance from your products.

I didn't realize these were built to order... that is pretty sweet!

That is exactly why there is the "Showcar" crowd, and then there is the "Race car" crowd. General you never see both unless the guy has too much money.

I am one to perfer the first pic over the second. But to each their own.

Since you mentioned hoods- lets take two vehicles the same. one built for show in Trucking Magazine (Purple), the other built for function. Which would you think most would actually prefer? I know which I would want. It wan;t about having things brightly painted as so much for function.

Re: Question is... red or black UMI A-arms?
i like bright/light colors, rather than darker ones and black because it's much easier to see dirt, fluid leaks, and most importantly cracks on a light surface compared to a dark surface.

lots of white tube chassis out there (see nascar etc.)

Jesus people... I don't think my question needed an argument over a show car or race car. That wasn't the topic... regardless my A-arms were delivered this afternoon and look amazing. Thanks to UMI for another great product.

And yes, you can have a car that performs while looking good. Aka.... street car. Lol

real race cars have almost everything under the car painted a bright color- usually white- so they can easily see any stress cracks that may be forming before they break.. but they also paint things in contrasting colors to make it easier to identify the parts they are looking to replace in the middle of a race and to make any fluid leaks stand out so they are easier to trace, and sometimes they are painted a particular high contrast color because of the rulebook of the series they race in... NASCAR Cup cars, for instance, have their driveshafts painted white to make them easy to see if they wind up laying on the track for some reason and fuel cell protective shells are red because they are a fire hazard..

but, yeah, brightly colored parts under a street driven car looks cheesy.. bare metal that turns a nice stealthy rusty color after a few months exposed to the elements is where it's at..
