You can run the lowest hole with stock springs for good forward traction. You can experiment as well. We added a third hole for more rear tuning. For forward traction place the rear control arm with the rear of it slightly lower than the front.

Re: UMI rear arm relocation brackets

worth every penny for them IF you are lowered. i have bolt in founders.

they will do nothing for you if you arent lowered as the control arms are already at the optimal angle.

These are what I have. They are a super tight fit and every hole will just barely clear the bolts but I like that a lot.

Re: UMI rear arm relocation brackets

I run the umi ones and they fit great. I like how they hooked to the shock mounting bolt. My car is lowered though. They got rid any wheel hop I was having

what is the "optimum angle", because mine are pointed down a lot.. chassis mounting point is about 1" lower than the mounting point on the rear axle, as measured from the level concrete floor of my garage. my car sits quite high, since it's a pretty stripped down car with brand new IROC replacement Moog springs in it.. if i lower the rear, it will just point them down farther in the front.

GM didn't have the finished product of these cars as engineered as well as you might think, easily evidenced with the additional "braces" you see all over the front half of the car. There are long and plentiful discussions about the GM engineers on these boards. But all that aside you do not need not to have a lowered car to need the relocation brackets. These cars have defective geometry that was designed in and gets worse as the springs sag. At one point I had new Moog stock springs and joints and the body mount side of the LCA was lower than the differential side by 3*. There are also many good discussions about the optimum angle but just ensuring that the body mount is higher than the differential mount will get you in the ball park.
