Crossmember suspension brace missing
Hey I'm missing the brace on my 88 IROC vert on the passenger side on my wife's car. I found two gm part #s GM 14019454 (Right Side) & 14019453 (Left)
Im assuming the Passenger is considered the right side correct? any idea where I can get this part? seems to be junkyard only I'm assuming as its discontinued obviously. I checked all the K Member bolts, did the ball joints a week ago and noticed the bracket missing....any body from Long Island or queens or Brooklyn here know where i can get one?? Thanks--Mike

Re: Crossmember suspension brace missing
Yup, those are kinda hit-or-miss.
If you want one, check the classifieds on this site, look for people parting out cars and see if the ones they have have them.

Re: Crossmember suspension brace missing
Pmed Ya. Yea I need it bc the car makes a clunking noise. I just did the struts, and Ball joints last week. Id much rather install the brace, especially since its a vert.

Re: Crossmember suspension brace missing
Well I have new ball joints, wheel bearings, brake calipers & lines and struts. I checked all the tierods and the steering box and didnt see any frame stress or cracks and the car drives like a dart in a line doesnt wander one bit.I aso checked the K member bolts. Its been doing this clunking only when the front end is under a load when braking. SO im thinking its either a spring possibly worn out, Control arm bushings (Highly Likely). However it is a vert and are more prone to flexing and I feel the brace should be there. Once i finish my corvette Ill throw some money on some nice control arms, bracing, sub frame connectors, wonderbar etc. For now I want to put the brace on and see if it reduces the clunking to some degree.
