Enter those with the drop spindles AND BAER brakes

There has to be a way to fit the 1LE brakes to these spindles. I have seen a couple of posts and with Andy's post it is not a simple bolt up installation. I know there is a guy with the BAER brakes and the drop spindles. Can he or anyone else give me the detailed dimenstions of the adaptor bracket that BAER have on their setup? Worst comes to worst i can make a mock-up of the assembly on ProE and then figure out how the bracket has to be but i would like to know what it looks like before hand.

Omega, Here is the link to the Baer 1LE/Belltech set up. You will notice that they have manufactured a special adapter bracket.

That caliper bracket doesn't look like stock either.

That's correct. And if you look carefully the caliper itself is not a stock 1LE caliper! I don't need drop spindles that bad.

Sorry about the quality of those pics, guys. That was before my digital camera days.

BUt as you did see, Baer does custom build the brackets.

Omar, was that your car then? What are the chances of you taking some detailed measurements of the bracket for me?

Omar,

Did you go for the Track setup or the SS? I just picked up a Track setup and i don't really want to fork out another $270 for the brackets.. this buildup is exponentially multiplying!!

How are the measurements going on the bracket?

I went for the SS. Since I have the 16" IROC rims, I wanted to play it safe with a hassle free install.

I am waiting for someone to repilcate a 88-90 IROC rim in 17x9 size. Then I would upgrade to their Track system, but like you said, $$$....it doesnt grow on trees for me either.

hhmm.. another .02 worth .... those almost look like the corvette caliper cradles ???? I only see 2 bolts to hold the adaptor to the spindle ... not the other 2 bolts that hold the cradle to the adaptor ???? on the vette cradle the bolts are perpendicular .. on the 3rd gen , all four bolts are parallel ......things that make you same , hhhmmmmmm..................

When you purchase a Baer Brake setup for our F-bodies, the setup mimics an 88-96 Corvette setup. This is so you can walk into any auto parts store for pads, rotors, etc, in case you dont wanna go with Baer's higher performance and higher priced items.

good point omar ... 1LE's are hard to beat for the price !!! and availablity .... but the cradles/carriers are different on a vette ..
I was pointing out that it looked like the lowered setup might use the actual vette carrier .. instead of the f-body version ... and another .02 worth ..the forth gen setup uses a PBR caliper WITHOUT a cradle .. and looks VERY much like it bolts up to a 1LE adaptor bracket ..the mounting hole is about .200" off :\
