Hey all so i was debating on getting a set of SFCs for my third gen. Looking at outers i think im going to go with the UMI 2400-B.

Ive done alot of searching to see how they fit with 3" catback and its hard to find concrete evidence that these will infact fit with the flowmaster 17233 3" catback. I have this mated with a Magnaflow cat into the 2055 Hooker header y-pipe.

If you guys think i should get something other than the UMI 2400 outer SFC, what would you recommend?

We rarely have exhaust fitment trouble. The most important photo and measurement would be how far is your exhaust from the passenger side rocker.

EDIT: i guess this thread should of probably been called "Do UMI SFCs fit with Hooker Header 2055 Y-pipe"

 

I checked on our test IROC.

It looks like the SFC tucks up much higher than the pipe. They're 1-1/2" W x 2" Tall and tuck way up into the rocker.

Please excuse the 13 years of PA salt wear on our beater.

I already mock fitted both sides. The Driver side slides right into position no problem, the passenger side looks like its going to be perfect! I can actually get the SFC up into position with out having to drop the exhaust, it just goes right in! The extra connector slides over the 3" y pipe. Im going to have the exhaust shop install a Wideband o2 bung so i'll prob have the y-pipe dropped any who and give the weldman extra clearance so he can get a nice weld on that connector!!

I will update you guys on the Results!!
