Power steering hose difference
GM used two (at least) different style of power steering pressure hoses one from 1982-1987 and a different one from 88-91 Anyone know how they are different and why? Is the newer style needed to clear the serpentine belt? Or was a noise vibration and harshness thing? Both of the hoses have the same metric saginaw fittings.
I'm swapping a 91 TBI 350 into my LG4 83... I'm guessing I need a 83 Hose...
Delco 36361790? (the factory hose was seized at the pump and I had to cut it to get out the old engine so I need a new hose. )
Right?

Re: Power steering hose difference
I'm starting to re think this... After looking at a ton of photos, it looks like the change in the pump hose is directly related to the Serpentine belt. The steering pump sits lower in the bracket and needs the newer hose... ACDELCO 36359320?
Anyone else add a serpentine to a belt system? Do you need to replace the pressure hose? The return also has a different routing too...
