Want to go the air-ride route for my show Z28. Stock K-member is best?

After a lot of thought I have decided the Z28 build I am doing will move more in the direction of a show car. Air-ride will be a must since I want to lower it a ton for shows, and lift it up to get into my driveway and go over speed pumps, etc.

I sold all of my aftermarket tubular pieces so I am starting from scratch.

I think a stock K-member and A-arms is the way to go. Weld in some gussets, etc. to beef it up if needed.

What is the best way to get a nice stock K-member and A-arms and is this the best route to go for air-ride?

Currently I have the car up on a home made rotisserie getting ready to strip and paint the underside.

The stock parts don't really need and beefing up, they are quite beefy already.

I don't see how aftermarket pieces or stock pieces would be better than the other unless the air ride kit was designed to fit a certain part. Anything can be modified to work.

The stock k and a arms often pop up for sale, usually pretty cheap, or maybe get lucky at as local bone yard.

I offered before I think, but I have a stock k member you can have if you ever make the trip down this way. From a 92, low mile car with nothing wrong with it. I don't have the control arms unfortunatly.

Hey 86, yes I think you did offer at some point. I spent some time yesterday looking for that post and couldn't find it.

Where are you located? I don't see why grabbing some A arms off Hawks would be too bad.

Bone yards are tough for parts like this as the work to pull might be prohibitive.
