kyb shocks squeak -SOLVED
I installed kyb agx shocks a few weeks ago. after a few days they started squeaking. I tightened the upper mount and they stopped squeaking for about 15 miles. I then sprayed the rubber with wd40 and it helped. I continued to spray them each day until they stopped all together. that lasted a few days and now its starting again. I don't recall the installation instructions saying anything about greasing the rubber bushings but that's all I can think to stop it. anyone have experience with this?

Re: kyb shocks squeak
Hey, I have this same issue with my rear AGX units. Drives me nuts. I haven't spent a whole lot of time diagnosing anything. I got under the car and wiggled the shocks around some one time, and the squeaking stopped for a while. But it's back again.
Did you fix yours yet? What did you end up doing?

Re: kyb shocks squeak
Always grease rubber/poly bushings with the correct grease. The other issue could be tightening the hardware, you should do this at ride height so that its natural "center" is at the ride height.
Be careful with WD-40 it actually cleans grease off and will make the issue worse and worse over time.

Re: kyb shocks squeak
I sprayed them real good with wd-40 from the top and they stopped squeaking for a few days. im going to drop them and put some bearing grease on the rubber. I will never buy another set of kyb shocks. ive never had a set of shocks squeak like this. drives me nuts and makes the car seem like a piece of crap because its so noisy.

Re: kyb shocks squeak
Silicone based synthetic water-proof grease
This is what I usually use, don't use axle grease.
