Repair Cracked Sway Bar
Thinking of replacing my stock solid 32mm front bar with a 34mm hollow one that I have. Only issue is there is a 1inch crack just outside of the frame bushing. Will welding it take car of it or should I not bother?

Re: Repair Cracked Sway Bar
While it might be possible to weld the crack....if it were my car, there's no way I'd do so. Stabilizer bars act like springs, and as a result, there's a certain amount of flex designed into them...there's just no real certain way to be sure the bar won't fail...possibly during a severe maneuver.
Replacements are still pretty common, and reasonably priced. It's just not worth the possible risk. IMHO.

No way to fix it.
It's a SPRING. The act of welding it would destroy it.
Just get another.
