Rough shaking around 70+
Hey there everybody.
So I just got my car back from the shop, my driver side axle housing is bent, but I'm not sure if that's causing the issue.
I had gotten into a fight with a curb a few years ago, finally piecing the car back together...
What could cause the car to shake so rough? Dash pad starts bobbing up and down pretty violently...
It feels... mostly okay, but I feel like there is a loss in the power transfer or something....
Anyone wanna help me spitball?

Back from the shop for what?
Is this a new problem, or has it always been there?
What have you already done to attempt to correct the issue?

Re: Rough shaking around 70+
Thanks for the reply.
The car was in pretty much pristine condition, 50k miles, I had it shipped up from Texas some 5 or so years ago.
Besides little issues here and there like replacing the top end gaskets for a small oil leak and the like.
Never had a shaking issue like this until about 2 years after I got it, I spun out and slammed into a curb with my driver rear first, and then the front.
I replaced the lower control arms and panhard bar, needed to replace the axle as well.
I took it to the shop to get the frame straightened, and it's there I found out the actual axle housing is a bit bent. Here is a picture of the results.
I'm getting a donor rear end, and the shop is going to try to align her again, we shall see how that goes.
Now I am not sure if the shaking is still caused by that rear end, or if it could potentially be something else... Perhaps like a busted motor mount? Im simply unsure.

Does it smooth out at 110 mph?
NO, DON'T DO THAT!
Maybe, if you hit the curb with the other side of the car, they will even out?

Three threads you've created with the same issue. How many answers are you looking for from the InterWebz?
Somewhere between buying a new car, and fixing what is bent is your solution. How much money you WANT to spend is your business.
If you WANT to buy a used/unknown rear end, then do what you WANT
I've given you my free advice, and a phone call is free. Get some facts to inform your WANTS. You just might learn that they can fix what is bent and is your cheapest solution. It's your money, do what you WANT.

I really appreciate your help and again, please excuse my impatience with this issue. I am going to give them a call. Thank you.

"Shaking" is BEYOND vague.
Is it the drive shaft? (hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....) or, is it a tire? (wubbawubbawubbawubbawubbawubba)
