Top shock nut
Trying to install lowering springs on the front of my 88 gta. Of course top nut on the front shocks will not budge. I have used penetrating oil and a blow torch. I have pretty much stripped the hex out of it as well. Do I need to just cut the nut at this point and buy a replacement nut? Does anyone know the size to replace it? Or do I need a new shocks

Re: Top shock nut
Have you hit it with an impact wrench?
My backhold hex is stripped too. I hold the shaft with a vice grip plier from the underside (as high as I can so it's not an important area for sealing).

Re: Top shock nut
I hit with my impact trying to let the hammer jar it loose but I didn't hold it on the underside. I will definitely try that next.
