Manual rack and pinion setup
Looking some opinions from those who have installed a manual rack in their cars and needed to weld the brackets on. I bought the Spohn rack and pinion setup and at the same time bought the BMR rack brackets for my K member.
I pulled all the stock steering out today, tie rods, idler arm and center link in one assembly and got my rack setup as close as I possibly could and currently have it mocked up in the spindles. Everything is looking great except the fact that the bracket on the driver's side might need some trims and possibly the A arm bolt turned around?? Anyway I'd appreciate any opinions y'all may have. And I'll post up a couple pics for a better idea.
Thanks everybody have fun! Oh and the picture of that K member isn't the same one I've got just a reference off BMR website with mounts installed

Re: Manual rack and pinion setup
Is it best to have the wheels on the ground to get these brackets where they need to be and have tie rods more or less level??

Re: Manual rack and pinion setup
Just a little update to this thread. The rack and pinion went in great and after getting it back from the alignment shop the guy said I had it almost bang on!
Bump steer is almost non-existent now and turning this thing is actually very very easy on a guy, as long as you're moving just a slight bit. Anybody that's on the fence about going this route should get off the fence and get it done! Worth every penny in my eyes.
Oh and one other thing is that I did have to cut the steering shafts a bit to make everything smooth as butter but other than that it was golden
